Ali Wight, Assistant Director, has dedicated her career to supporting and uplifting children and families through education, counseling, and youth development. With a background in school counseling and education, she brings both professional expertise and genuine compassion to her role at Camp Runoia. Summer 2026 marks Ali’s 6th summer on Great Pond, and she cannot wait to return for another unforgettable season.
At Camp Runoia, Ali is often one of the very first people families connect with when exploring camp, and building those relationships is at the heart of both her work and her passion. She deeply values getting to know each camper and family personally and believes that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of a successful camp experience. From a family’s first phone call or camp tour to summers spent growing together on Great Pond, Ali cherishes the long-lasting connections that camp creates and takes pride in helping families feel welcomed, supported, and truly known within the Runoia community.
Ali oversees many aspects of the camper and family experience, including enrollment, family communication, camper support, staff support, and day-to-day camp leadership. She works closely with families throughout the year to help campers transition successfully into camp life and collaborates with the leadership team to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every camper can thrive. Ali is deeply passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, resilience, and meaningful friendships.
Ali lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with her wife and two children. Prior to joining Camp Runoia’s leadership team, she worked as a counselor for the Allentown School District, where she was recognized as the district’s Teacher of the Year. Known for her tireless dedication to students, families, and colleagues, Ali built a reputation for going far beyond her role to advocate for children, connect families with resources, strengthen community relationships, and ensure every child feels seen and supported.
With her extensive experience, compassionate leadership style, and deep commitment to youth development, Ali plays an integral role in shaping the camp experience for campers, families, and staff alike. She is dedicated to ensuring every camper feels valued, supported, and empowered during their time at Runoia.
