Riding Packages for Camp Runoia Equestrian Program
Riding Lesson Packages at Camp Runoia
3 Lessons – $210
A great starter pack for those wanting a little riding at camp to build on skills or keep in shape for riding at home.
6 Lessons – $420
Six lessons are ideal for beginner riders who have a lot of interest in riding and for older campers who enjoy riding, but also have other interests they want to explore at camp. A first time rider taking 6 lessons can expect to learn all the skills listed in the 2 lesson description, plus they will learn to trot and begin to develop their posting trot depending on their previous experience and aptitude. Returning riders will continue to build on their skills at the trot, such as posting, two point, and trotting over poles.
9 Lessons – $630
By riding director approval only. We recommend this lesson package for returning campers who like to ride or new campers who ride outside of camp.
Full Season Only
12 Lessons – $840
We recommend this lesson package for returning campers who love to ride or new campers who ride outside of camp.
20 lessons – $1,400
By riding director approval only. Your camper will have 20 lessons over the whole summer at camp. This package is only for full season campers who have been riding for more than one summer at Runoia or who ride at home on a regular basis. This package is not available to beginner riders.
No Riding
We understand riding is not for everyone, either due to allergies or it’s simply not their “thing” and campers are not forced to try it.
We work with Hemphill’s Saddlery, a local tack shop, to offer a reasonable package that can be shipped to your home or waiting for your camper when she arrives at camp. We will provide helmet/boots for new campers who are taking just their first summer ‘try it’ lesson. Equipment rental is available at camp for $35.
Please contact us with any follow up questions. There are campership funds available specifically to support riders based on merit, so, please ask if it is a financial hardship for your family.
