Batik is a wax and paint process on linen creating beautiful patterns within the subject. Batiks made at Runoia make amazing wall hangings at home. Frameable and showcase art work from Runoia is a goal we meet in our arts and crafts classes! For batik class, you will choose your own design and size of your batik. Once your image is chosen, you will sketch or draw your image on the stretched linen. After you’ve sketched the image you apply the wax with a fine paint brush. Using paint brushes, you color your image as you envision. The final product involves ironing the wax out of the cloth leaving your image with unique lines and effects. You will proudly hang your batik on your family’s living room wall or frame it and give it as a special gift!
