News flash! In 2023 you can help a camper on a campership by donating to the SWAG (stuff we all GIVE) fund – where campers will receive gifts like Crazy Creek Chairs, Hydro Flask water bottle and a friendship bracelet making kit!

Venmo pam@runoia.com any size contribution to help support our campers on campership. Even $25 will help complete our goal. Read below to see Em Friedman’s introduction letter.

Your donation will directly fund the gifts to campers on camperships with no overhead. This year, your gift will not be a tax deductible gift but we hope to coordinate that next summer with the CRAO. On the CRAO page you can make a tax-free deduction to help campers attend camp through financial aid.

Runoia Alumni near and far, Happy Spring!

My name is Em Friedman. I am a former camper and current staff and member of the Runoia Diversity Advisory Committee, which I am writing this email on behalf of. This summer will be my ninth year on Great Pond, and I hope to make it the best one yet!

The CRAO’s campership program is vital in supporting the DAC’s mission and dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Our camperships help diversify Runoia and provide equitable access to the camp experience. With that said, we are always looking for new ways to help the campers receiving financial support feel just as included in the Runoia fun.

To spread the magic on to the next generation, we are introducing a new campaign to help fill in the “extras” – aspects of camp culture that bring campers together (think Crazy Creeks, Hydro Flasks, and the oh-so-fun friendship bracelet making kit!) While these tangible items do not make up all of who we are as a vibrant community, we believe that having these extra goodies will help our campership recipients feel welcomed, included, and supported.

We know that the spirit of our younger alumni makes you the perfect group to bring this idea to. We are excited to offer this avenue for a new generation of alumni to support the Runoia mission and pass along some of the magic you experienced as a camper. We are asking for donations via Venmo to help fund this campaign and know that even $25 will help one camper feel more at home at the place we all love.

If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions, or just wants to
catch up, feel free to email me here.

Love and Bobos from NYC, Em

Venmo here and Pam will collect all fund through June 30 and coordinate with Alex Jackson and Colleen O’Malley at Runoia to purchase the gifts. The earlier the better as campers arrive June 24 for First Session!
